Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Experience
I have extensive experience working in a range of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams. I have worked closely with a variety of colleagues specialising in health and education, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Paediatricians, teachers, teaching assistants and SNAs.
These working relationships have helped shape me as a therapist, where I strived to work with children, their families and educators in a holistic and neuroaffirmative manner, putting the child's needs at the centre of my decision making.
Early Career with the NHS, UK
I graduated in 2012 from University College Cork with a First Class Honours Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and after that commenced my career in England where
I initially worked in Surrey and then later moved to South London, where I worked in Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust, as well as Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust.
During my time in England, I worked in a variety of educational settings; Language classes for pupils with a Developmental Language Disorder; and in classes specifically for Autistic pupils.
Career with the HSE, Ireland
I relocated to Dublin in 2017 where I took up a position with the HSE. Since then, I have worked primarily across South Dublin and North West Dublin, in Primary Care Centres and in Children's Disability Network Teams.
From 2018 to 2020 I worked as part of the NCSE 'In School Therapy Service' Pilot project where I supported educators and pupils in schools and early years settings.
